In months past we have heard of the economic financial crisis and the term “bailout” used in specific answer to it. I often wonder when those who slumber will awaken and realize when Jesus said, “It is finished!” He meant it. When creation started seeking answers among themselves, instead of looking to their Creator, that is when all our problems started. "Bailout" you ask? What more can God do? He already sent His Son Jesus. May I remind you that Jesus was the biggest bailout package you will ever hear of, even if you don’t receive Him. There will be some who will forego the opportunity and refuse help. There is nothing new under the sun. But let me remind you, this is one bailout package that everyone needs and must receive. Though many will be unable to comprehend such a thing, there are those who will simply try the PACKAGE on for size to see how it fits. These will always be among us; the ones who have a form of godliness, but no godliness is in them. (2 Timothy 3: 1-5) I can even say at one season in my life I was just like these. Oh, I knew all the right answers, all the right hymns, all the right prayers, all the right scriptures to convince anyone that I knew Jesus intimately. I even convinced myself at times. Then at night I would cry out to God and ask ‘Where are you?”
Maybe that is you right now. Maybe you have a lot of church knowledge. Maybe you went to Sunday school faithfully, but your life lacks purpose and direction. So many answers and yet an insurmountable degree of unanswered questions are still lingering in your heart and soul. I’ve played the game before. I wish I could say I haven’t, but I have. I was so sincere too; sincerely lost. Then the bailout provided over 2000 years ago became a reality to me. I experienced joy in place of my suffering, hope in place of my despair, and grace in place of condemnation. Don’t just try it on, take it home. For home is where the heart is; and living in our hearts may others see a most valuable treasure, God’s Only Son.
