My Spiritual Journey by Gaetan Morin I was born in a small predominately Catholic town, which is now part of Montreal, Canada. Our family moved to the United States when I was 8 years old. Though I was not completely aware of it at the time, I was a seeker. My life basically felt empty and void. As an adult I began to seek other avenues of spiritualism. I have been exposed to Islam, Hinduism, Shintoism and the occult. I have had my palm read and my fortune told. An area that truly intrigued me was the reading of Tarot Cards. Although I learned the meaning of each card and their inter-relationship, I never could let myself "feel the cards" as it were. A small voice in my head told me not to venture any further and not to open myself to that world. Thus, I heeded the warning. It was bothersome for quite some time because I still played with the Tarot Cards and had an urging to let the cards be felt inside me, yet at the same time hearing that voice say, "Stop". I decided to put them away for fear that I might be exposing myself to something that later I might regret. All of this took place while I resided on the East Coast. When I received a job offer in Colorado, I decided to take it. I packed my bags and moved to the Denver area. Now that I look back, I realize that this was God's way of moving me to a place where I would seek and eventually find Him. You see, I had not gone to church in years, yet I knew there was an emptiness inside of me that needed to be filled. One day I met Jane. We spoke of life, and worldly things and such. Shortly thereafter, she asked if I would attend church with her. I had previously made up my mind that I needed to find a church but there was always a reason why I did not apply my efforts to find one.   One day Jane and I went to church. That was the day that changed my life. At this church there was singing and worshipping and to me, that was a whole new concept. Being brought up as a Catholic in those years that was somewhat "taboo". In this church, I learned about having a relationship with the Lord and what that meant. As I began to surrender areas in my life over to God, I slowly felt the emptiness being filled with something I had never experienced before. I realized the fulfillment did not just exist on Sundays, but all week long. I started questioning some of my actions. I began thinking that there was a deeper meaning to purpose in life. I came to the realization one Sunday morning, that I could not do things by myself. It was then that I gave my life to Jesus. My Life Now I am a true example of the scripture that says "Seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you." Jane helped me to seek, and God allowed me to find. My new life in Christ has been filled with wonderful experiences and evidences of His hand in my life. Do I still have problems? Yes. But I know "Who" to give my problems to. I have not only learned that I am unable to do things myself, but I have experienced the joy and answers to numerous prayers when I let Jesus take control. God has given me the grace to preach at the local prison and to do street ministry as well. Jane and I have been active in church planting and have pastored in CO and assisted churches here in TX since our arrival in 2006.  I continue to strive in becoming the man He created me to be. It isn't always easy but I thank God for His grace and sufficiency! Ask, Seek, Knock.... "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find: knock and the door will be opened unto you.
