This song was written through a very dark hopeless time in my life. I had to come face to face with the reality that people will let you down and true friendships are hard to find. However, I discovered that when everyone was gone, Jesus was still there. I also discovered that regardless of my actions, or the actions of others, He never leaves us alone in the dark. He actually embraces us and brings us comfort and joy in the midst of it!

Lover of My Soul
Words and Music by Jane Morin 1999
Fear had a hold on me till You whispered, "Sit at my feet."
The words of life, Ill share with you, this is bread you can eat
But in my hesitation I chose to walk my own way
Now my heart is heavy laden, and this is all I can say
(Chorus)
I don’t want to break Your heart Lord, so show me what to do
Let me walk in Your foot prints, let me be just like You
I want to shout it from the mountains, God can make you whole
You’re the healer of the wounded heart and the Lover of my soul.
Life can be uncertain until you give it all away
He says love your neighbor as yourself, and pray for wisdom everyday
Lord You don’t want my sacrifice, You only want me to obey
So tear down these idols Lord, that stand in the way
(chorus 2x)
